Connecting Your Social Media Accounts
How to link Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile to the Social Planner so you can post everywhere from one place.
Connecting Your Social Media Accounts
Before you can schedule or publish posts, you need to connect your social media accounts to the dashboard. This is a one-time setup. Once everything is linked, you won't need to do it again (unless a platform disconnects, which we'll cover below).
The whole process takes about 5-10 minutes if you do all four platforms at once.
Before you start
A couple of things to have ready:
- Your Growth Tools dashboard login. If you don't have it yet, message Korneel on Slack and he'll send you the link and credentials.
- Login details for your social media accounts. You'll be signing into each platform during the connection process, so make sure you know your passwords (or have them saved in your browser).
You don't have to connect all platforms at once. If you only use Instagram and Facebook, just connect those two. You can always add LinkedIn or Google later.
How to connect your accounts
Here's the general process — it's the same for every platform:
Open your dashboard
Log into your Growth Tools dashboard. If you've bookmarked it, great. If not, check your Slack messages with Korneel — he'll have sent you the link when you first got set up.
Go to Settings
Click on Settings in the left sidebar. Then navigate to Integrations, and look for the Social Media section. You'll see a list of platforms you can connect.
Click Connect
Next to each platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile), you'll see a Connect button. Click it, and a popup will appear asking you to log into that platform and grant permissions.
Authorize the connection
Follow the prompts in the popup. You'll typically need to log in, select the account or page you want to connect, and then approve the permissions. Once done, the popup will close and you'll see the platform marked as "Connected" in your dashboard.
Repeat for each platform
Go through the same process for each platform you want to use. We recommend connecting everything you plan to post on so it's all ready when you sit down to create content.
Platform-specific instructions
Each platform has a few quirks. Here's what you need to know for each one.
Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. If you're currently using a personal account, you'll need to switch before you can connect.
How to switch to a Business account:
- Open Instagram on your phone
- Go to your profile and tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top right
- Tap Settings and privacy
- Scroll down to Account type and tools
- Tap Switch to professional account
- Choose Business (or Creator if you prefer)
- Follow the prompts to select a category and connect your Facebook Page (optional but recommended)
Switching is free and instant. You won't lose any followers or posts. The only thing that changes is that you get access to analytics and can connect to tools like the Social Planner.
A personal Instagram account cannot be connected to the Social Planner. If the connection isn't working, double-check that you've switched to a Business or Creator account.
When connecting Instagram in your dashboard:
- You'll be asked to log in through Facebook (Instagram's business tools are managed through Facebook/Meta)
- Make sure you select the correct Instagram account if you have multiple
- Grant all the requested permissions — the tool needs them to publish posts on your behalf
For Facebook, you'll be connecting a Facebook Page, not your personal profile. If you don't have a Page for your business yet, you'll need to create one first.
When connecting Facebook:
- Log in with your personal Facebook account (the one that has admin access to your Page)
- You'll see a list of Pages you manage — select the one you want to connect
- Approve all permissions
If you have multiple Facebook Pages (for example, one for your retreat and one for your coaching practice), you can connect them separately and choose which one to post to each time you create a post.
LinkedIn lets you connect either your personal profile or a company page (or both).
When connecting LinkedIn:
- Click Connect next to LinkedIn
- Log in with your LinkedIn credentials
- Choose whether to connect your personal profile, your company page, or both
- Approve the permissions
Most wellness entrepreneurs post from their personal LinkedIn profile, since that tends to get more engagement than company pages. But if you have an established company page, connecting both gives you flexibility.
Google Business Profile
If you have a Google Business Profile (the listing that shows up when people search for your business on Google), you can connect it to the Social Planner and publish posts directly to it.
When connecting Google Business Profile:
- Click Connect next to Google Business Profile
- Log in with the Google account that manages your business listing
- Select the correct business if you manage multiple listings
- Approve permissions
Google Business Profile posts are a bit different from social media posts. They show up on your Google listing and can include a call-to-action button (like "Book Now" or "Learn More"). They're great for local visibility.
What to do if a platform disconnects
This happens sometimes. Social media platforms (especially Facebook and Instagram) occasionally revoke connections for security reasons. When this happens, your scheduled posts for that platform will fail to publish.
Here's how to spot and fix it:
Signs of a disconnected account:
- Your posts stop going out on one specific platform
- You see an error message in the Social Planner next to that platform
- You get a notification that a scheduled post failed
How to fix it:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Social Media
- Find the disconnected platform (it'll usually show an error or "Disconnected" status)
- Click Reconnect or Connect again
- Log in and re-authorize the permissions
- That's it — your future scheduled posts will go out as normal
Social platforms occasionally disconnect without warning. If your posts suddenly stop publishing, check your connections first — it's the most common cause. Make it a habit to check your connections once a month.
Troubleshooting common issues
"I can't see my Facebook Page during setup." Make sure you're logging in with the Facebook account that has admin access to the Page. If you're a contributor or editor (not an admin), you might not see it.
"Instagram connection keeps failing." The most common reason is that your account is still set to personal. Double-check that you've switched to a Business or Creator account. Also, make sure your Instagram is connected to a Facebook Page (Meta requires this for business API access).
"I connected my account but it shows as disconnected the next day." This can happen if you recently changed your password on that platform. Reconnect it after changing your password and it should stick.
"I want to connect a different account." Disconnect the current one first (click the three dots or "Disconnect" next to the platform), then connect the new account.
Need a hand?
If you're running into any issues connecting your accounts, just send a message to Korneel on Slack. He can walk you through it or even do it for you during a quick screen-share.

Connect all your platforms at once to save time. Set aside 10 minutes, do them all in one go, and you won't have to think about it again.
This feature is part of our Growth Tools package. If you're interested in adding this to your setup, reach out to Korneel on Slack.
