Creating and Managing Courses
How to build online courses with lessons, quizzes, assignments, and certificates — sell your knowledge through a professional client portal.
Creating and Managing Courses
If you offer coaching programmes, workshops, or educational content, the courses feature lets you create a full learning experience for your clients. They log into their own portal, watch videos, complete lessons, take quizzes, submit assignments, and earn certificates — all under your brand.
The client portal
Everything starts with the client portal — this is the branded space where your clients log in to access their courses, manage subscriptions, and interact with your content. Watch this step (0:16)
Portal settings
Go to Client Portal → Settings to configure: Watch this step (0:35)
- Domain — your portal lives on a custom URL (we set this up for you)
- Branding — your logo, colours, and styling
- App permissions — choose what clients can see: courses only, billing and subscriptions, shared files, etc.
Email notifications
Under the email settings, you control which emails your clients receive — like welcome emails when they purchase a course, and notifications about new content. Watch this step (1:10)
You can toggle each notification on or off, and customise the email templates to match your brand voice.
Creating a new course
Navigate to the courses section and click Create Course. Watch this step (2:51)
Add the course title and description
Give your course a clear title (e.g., "8-Week Mindfulness Programme") and a description explaining what clients will learn.
Upload a thumbnail
This is the cover image clients see in their portal. Make it visually appealing — it's the first impression of your course.
Set up pricing
Choose how you want to charge:
- Free — no payment required (great for lead magnets)
- One-time payment — pay once, access forever
- Recurring — monthly/yearly subscription for ongoing programmes
The pricing automatically creates a product in your payments section, so you don't need to set it up separately.
Building your course content
After creating the course, you'll enter the course builder. This is where you add all your content. Watch this step (3:51)
Course structure
Courses are organised in a hierarchy:
- Course (the main product, e.g., "8-Week Mindfulness Programme")
- Module / Category (a section, e.g., "Week 1: Foundations")
- Lesson (individual content, e.g., "Introduction to Breath Work")
- Quiz (test their knowledge)
- Assignment (homework they submit to you)
- Module / Category (a section, e.g., "Week 1: Foundations")
Adding modules and lessons
Click Add to create modules (categories), then add lessons inside them. Watch this step (5:03)
Each lesson can include:
- Video — upload a video walkthrough or embed a Loom/YouTube video
- Voice notes — audio content for guided meditations or explanations
- Written content — text with formatting, images, and links
- Downloadable resources — PDFs, worksheets, checklists, or other files clients can download
Adding quizzes
Quizzes inside courses work differently from the standalone quizzes. These are knowledge checks — each question has a correct answer. Watch this step (9:04)
You can:
- Create multiple-choice questions with a correct answer
- Set a passing score (e.g., 80% correct to pass)
- Add explanations for each answer so clients learn from their mistakes
- Require passing the quiz before unlocking the next module
Adding assignments
Assignments let clients submit their own work for you to review — homework, reflections, or projects. Watch this step (9:04)
You provide instructions and optional reference material, and clients upload their work directly in the portal. You review it before they can move to the next lesson.
Controlling the learning path
You have powerful options for how clients move through your course:
For most wellness programmes, a combination of drip content and locking works well. Release one module per week so clients don't get overwhelmed, and lock each module until the previous one is completed so they stay on track.
Welcome badges and certificates
Welcome badge
When someone enrols in your course, you can give them a welcome badge — a small visual reward that appears in their portal. It makes the experience feel more personal from the first moment. Watch this step (3:51)
Completion certificate
When a client finishes your entire course, they can receive an official completion certificate. Watch this step (4:36)
You can customise the certificate design, add your name as instructor, and it automatically fills in the client's name and completion date. Great for adding credibility to coaching programmes or professional training.
Customising the look of your course
The Customization tab lets you design how your course looks in the client portal — colours, fonts, hero section, layout, and more. Watch this step (10:54)
You can:
- Change colour themes to match your brand
- Customise the header/hero section with your own text and images
- Add content blocks (images, text, videos) to the course landing page
- Edit the sidebar appearance
- Preview changes in real-time
Saving as a template
If you create a design you love, save it as a template so you can reuse it for future courses. Watch this step (14:00)
When you use a template for a new course, it brings over the design and any text in the template (like header text). Make sure to update the text for each new course so it's specific to that programme.
Course details
The Details tab is where you edit the course's metadata: thumbnail, instructor name, description, and advanced settings like tracking codes. Watch this step (10:54)
You can also add instructor information — your name, photo, and bio — so clients know who's teaching them.
