Creating Quizzes
How to build interactive quizzes that score answers, show personalised results, and generate leads — like "What type of retreat is right for you?"
Creating Quizzes
Quizzes are the most interactive of the three (forms, surveys, and quizzes). They let you ask questions, calculate a score behind the scenes, and show a personalised result at the end. They're amazing for lead generation — think "What type of retreat is right for you?", "How stressed are you?", or "What's your wellness personality?"
Forms vs surveys vs quizzes
| Forms | Surveys | Quizzes | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pages | Single page | Multiple pages | Multiple pages |
| Scoring | No | No | Yes — automatic scoring |
| Personalised result | No | No | Yes — based on score |
| Best for | Quick inputs | Longer questionnaires | Interactive lead generation |
| Embed in emails | Yes | No | No |
How quizzes work
The magic of quizzes is the scoring system. Here's the concept:
- You create categories (like personality types, retreat styles, or stress levels)
- Each answer option gives points to one or more categories
- At the end, the quiz shows a result based on which category scored highest
For example, a "What type of retreat is right for you?" quiz might have categories like "Adventure", "Relaxation", and "Spiritual". Each question's answers add points to different categories. The person who picks mostly active, outdoor answers gets "Adventure Retreat" as their result.
The quiz page
Navigate to Sites → Quizzes to see your quizzes. You can add new ones, organise them in folders, or edit existing ones. Watch this step (0:26)
Building a quiz
Like surveys, quizzes have multiple pages. Each page can contain questions, personal information fields, or customised text blocks for layout. Watch this step (0:45)
Adding questions
On the left panel, you'll find everything you can add to your quiz: quiz questions, personal information fields (name, email), and text blocks for layout and instructions. Watch this step (1:11)
Add a text block at the top of your first page as an introduction: "Answer these 10 quick questions to find out which retreat style suits you best. It takes about 2 minutes." This sets expectations and encourages people to complete the quiz.
Setting up scoring categories
This is what makes quizzes powerful. Click Manage Categories in the top left to define your result categories. Watch this step (1:45)
For example, an Ayurvedic wellness quiz might have three categories: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. A retreat quiz might use: Adventure, Relaxation, Spiritual. A stress assessment might use: Low Stress, Moderate Stress, High Stress.
Assigning scores to answers
Click on any question, then go to its settings. At the bottom, you'll see the categories with score fields. Watch this step (2:07)
For each answer option, you assign points to the relevant category. For example:
- Question: "How do you like to start your morning?"
- "With a high-energy workout" → Adventure: 2 points
- "With meditation and tea" → Spiritual: 2 points
- "Sleeping in, no alarm" → Relaxation: 2 points
The system adds up all the points across all questions and determines which category scored highest. That becomes the person's result.
The result page
Scroll to the bottom of your quiz to find the result page. This is what people see after completing the quiz. Watch this step (2:58)
You can include several sections on your result page:
Shows only the winning category — the one where the person scored highest. This is the most common setup. For example: "You're a Relaxation retreater! Here's what that means..." Each category gets its own description and image that you write in advance.
Configuring score tiers (optional)
If you're showing overall or per-category scores, you can set up colour-coded tiers so results are visually clear. Watch this step (4:24)
For example:
- 0-30 = Green ("Low stress — you're doing great!")
- 31-60 = Yellow ("Moderate stress — some areas to work on")
- 61-100 = Red ("High stress — let's talk about how to help")
Storing quiz results on contacts
This is a powerful feature for personalisation. You can save each person's quiz results as a custom field on their contact profile. Watch this step (5:24)
Why this matters: later, when you open a contact's profile, you can instantly see their quiz result. You can also use it in automations — for example, "If quiz result is Adventure, send them the adventure retreat email sequence."
Go to Settings in the quiz builder
Open the settings panel for your result page.
Select which custom fields to store
Choose which scores or results you want saved on each contact. For example, save the overall score, the winning category, or scores for each individual category.
Save your quiz
From now on, every person who completes the quiz will have their results stored on their contact profile automatically.
Submission settings
Choose what happens when someone finishes the quiz. Watch this step (6:12)
- Show result template — display the personalised result page you designed (most common)
- Show a message — display a simple text message instead
- Redirect to a URL — send them to a specific page (like a booking page for their recommended retreat)
You can also add your Facebook Pixel ID so quiz completions are tracked for your advertising campaigns.
Sharing your quiz
Click Integrate for your sharing options. Watch this step (6:32)
Like surveys, you have two options:
- Embed code — add it to your website (ask Korneel if you need help)
- Share link — a direct URL to send via email, social media, or WhatsApp
Quizzes are incredibly shareable. Put the link in your Instagram bio ("Take the quiz!"), add it as a button on your homepage, or include it in your email signature. People love quizzes — they're fun and they generate high-quality leads because the person is already engaged with your content.
